Nadi Cergas started with legacy server environment without any virtualization. The heterogeneous environment proved difficult to maintain. For cost effective, choosing Hyper-V over ESXi would be cheaper and so they gradually switched to the Windows Hyper-V environment.
Before implementing the HA solution, Nadi Cergas relied on general server for their main storage. However, Nadi Cergas relies heavily on the availability of its database & share folders. With only one primary data processing system, Nadi Cergas needed a reliable solution to ensure the availability of its systems in the event of disaster.
To prevent downtime, the company needed its servers to replicate data to a backup server for disaster protection. If one server fails, the other server takes over operation. This failover process sustains operations, maximises uptime and enables user productivity.
To deliver full failover protection, improve local area network performance and to ensure continuous availability, Nadi Cergas migrate legacy server and switches to Cisco Catalyst switches and Windows Server Failover Cluster (WSFC) which then brings positive transformations such as improved server provisioning and deployment, better disaster recovery solutions, efficient and increased staff productivity.
With Windows Server Failover Cluster (WSFC) system, with each node take ownership of the resources. If the primary node fails, WSFC transfers all operations to the other node while enabling continuous access to applications and data (which is protected at the volume level) while still maintaining client connectivity and provide uninterrupted data access, giving Nadi Cergas the reliable, fault-resilient system they needed.
The cluster implementation and cisco switches migration ran smoothly and took less than a day.
